Ring RSC508 +8

Price: £64.95, Max charge rate: 8A

This bruiser could charge batteries from 12-220Ah at selectable rates between 2A and 8A. We liked the digital display, which showed the charge rate, voltage or charge percentage, and the nose LED could be useful. Seven-mode charging put the Ring head-to-head with the Optimate and CTEK 4003, although there was no visual indication as to what stage it was at. The large, hard-wired clips weren’t fully insulated, although the price makes this device well worth checking out.
