Dropping three places from last year, the Ka is a regular at this end of the chart. While its enduring showroom appeal is a credit to its 11-year-old design, it isn't as easy to live with as some of its newer competitors. Last place in the comfort category is due to the tiny rear space and basic front seats, while the same ranking for braking shows you expect a technology upgrade. Despite shabby build quality, there's a mid-table score for reliability, but it's the thrifty running costs that lift it from the bottom of the chart.

“The bodywork is very easy to dent, and the brakes are bad, too, no matter how many times I change the pads. But I like the ride, and it's quite fast.”
Julia Pearlman - London“It's a fun car that still makes me smile every time I drive it.”
Mr Stuart McKinley - Middlesex“A slightly quirky car, with a wheel at each corner and therefore easy to park. Some good, practical features.”
Mrs S Austin - Glos“Overall the Sport KA SE we own is great, my partner and I love it, it's a little noisy inside but we just turn the music up, would like a little more mpg from a small car, running costs are very low. Just a great little car.”
Mr Kevin Hough - Herts“Engine fixed on first time, electrics three times to sort and think that the garage disconnected wire to stop problem. Other than that, good little car, considering design approx 10 years old. Six-speed gearbox needed to assist the close ratio on the sport ka, not great for motorway driving. ”
Mr Joshua Tobin - Somerset“A great car for two people for local driving and occasional long journey.”
