Citroen C2

A mixed bag for the little Citroen. While it is at least consistent –– the C2 finished 80th in last year’'s survey, too –– you tell us it’'s poorly built and that you can'’t get on with its impractical three-door-only bodystyle. Weak engines are also criticised for their performance, while uncomfortable seats and a stiff ride get low marks. With a constant stream of cashback deals, the C2 is one of the cheapest cars in its class –– which perhaps explains why 91 per cent of owners didn'’t expect any better.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

Wow! Citroen’'s in seventh heaven. While 23rd overall is hardly cause for celebration, a jump of seven places is a huge step in the right direction for the firm that found itself only seven steps from last place in 2006. Focusing its attention back on to producing design-led models that are genuinely desirable, it looks like things are on the up. However, there'’s still a long way to go...
