BMW 3-Series (Old)

The evergreen old 3-Series slips into the bottom half of the Top 100 in 2009. But the earliest models are now approaching their 11th year, so this isn’t too bad a result.

As with most premium cars, the 3-Series can’t be run on small change – a fact reflected in its 86th place finish for costs. That said, build, performance and handling are strong.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

It trails Lexus, but BMW will be delighted to see that it’s still ahead of Mercedes and Audi… just. The brand has fallen two places overall this year, and will look to reverse that trend in 2010.
