Mazda MX-5 (Old)

If you want a reliable, well built convertible with great handling, the MX-5 is for you.

But those after something comfortable with a practical boot may want to look elsewhere.

The MkII MX-5 remains one of the best-value roadsters on the market, and the fact it can still record a top 10 finish in the reliability chart after a decade is amazing.

It’s fallen one place, yet Mazda is still in the top 10. The blot in its copybook is 23rd position for running costs, although it’s offset by a fifth-placed rank in both the handling and braking categories.
