Kia C'eed

Overall Average Rating - 90.16%
Position in the Top 100 cars - 6th

We can hear the champagne corks popping at Kia dealers across the UK! It’s long been clear the Cee’d compact family car is a class act, but until now we didn’t know what it would be like to live with. The answer is loud and clear – you love your Kias!

A fantastic third place for reliability makes the Cee’d the most dependable car in its class, while the same position for running costs proves it to be a shrewd purchase.

A more supple ride would help it to crack the top five, yet few would have expected it to push established rivals aside and achieve such an impressive debut.

WINNER OF CLASS - Compact Family

It’s one of the most significant results in Driver Power history! We knew the Cee’d would represent a turning point for Kia, but jaws will drop at this result. Having hit sixth in the Top 100, the car’s proved a smash in one of the most coveted classes with a score of more than 90 per cent. Beaten into second is the MkV Golf. It is a position VW will be hoping the MkVI can better next year, but the German car still finished ahead of the Prius by a nose – no mean feat given that the hybrid was the compact family class leader last year. Toyota will be pleased the Corolla made it into the top five, but disappointed that the newer Auris didn’t. Fiat’s Bravo does just enough to achieve fifth place.

“Handling, comfort and performance are up there with European rivals, but the Kia has loads more equipment. The seven-year warranty is the icing on the cake.”

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 12th)

A rise of two places for Kia reflects the sixth-placed debut of its Cee’d family car – and puts it six positions above its Hyundai sister company. As quality improves, we expect this trend to continue.
