1. Vauxhall Insignia VXR

Goodwood will also see a UK debut of the hottest Vauxhall Insignia yet – the beefy VXR version! Beneath the agressive bodywork lies a 321bhp 2.8-litre turbocharged V6, which drives all four wheels. Zero to 60mph takes 5.8 seconds – just four tenths down on the 328bhp supercharged Audi S4 – while the top speed is limited to 155mph. It's available in saloon, hatch and estate trim.

2. Pagani Zonda R

It's the mightiest Zonda ever with a 750bhp 6.0-litre V12 engine and six-speed paddle-shift sequential race transmission. Zero to 62mph takes just 2.7 seconds from 0-62mph, while the top speed is 220mph. Customers can have their Zonda R calibrated to a range of power outputs they desire via the latest generation onboard software too!

3. McLaren-Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss

Honouring Stirling Moss' famous Mille Miglia-winning 300 SLR, this last-of-the-line incarnation of the McLaren-Mercedes supercar has no windscreen or roof and a retro-inspired carbon body. Power comes from the same 641bhp supercharged V8 as the outgoing SLR and SLR Roadster. Only 75 will be made, each costing £591,000.

4. Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M

With an uprated 4.3-litre V8 engine producing a staggering 510bhp at 8,500rpm, the open-top Scuderia 16M Spider can hit a top speed of almost 200mph and sprint from 0-62mph in only 3.7 seconds. It's fitted with a six-speed F1 inspired sequential manual gearbox and e-diff traction control system. Only 499 examples will be made.

Morgan Aero Supersports   Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport   Audi A1   Porsche Panamera S
5. Morgan Aero Supersports

Morgan's new Aero Super Sports is a limited-edition roadster that packs a 400bhp BMW-sourced 4.8-litre V8 and a six-speed manual transmission. It gets a two-panel removable roof, giving owners the choice of a hardtop or a full convertible. Expect a price tag of around £130,000.

6. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

Following a star turn at last year's event, the Veyron is back at Goodwood – this time in drop-top Grand Sport trim. Thanks to a neat removable roof, it'll certainly offer lucky buyers a wind-in-the-hair experience. Power comes from the same 987bhp 8.0-litre W16 engine as the coupe so expect a 240mph-plus top speed. Other new details include incredible LED lights at the front.

7. Audi A1

You'll be able to get your best look yet at Audi's MINI rival at Goodwood – the German firm will have its A1 concept car at the event, which is based on the latest VW Polo. The concept gets a hybrid, four-wheel-drive powertrain thanks to a turbocharged 150bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 41bhp electric motor which drives the rear wheels. Sales will start in 2010.

8. Porsche Panamera S

It's the four-door 911 – and you'll be able to see it in the flesh at this year's Festival of Speed. Porsche will be showing off the Panamera S at the event which is powered by a 405bhp 4.8-litre V8 engine. At 17cm longer than a Cayenne it should offer lots of legroom! Other highlghts to look out for include the huge pop-up rear wing and hugely luxurious cabin.

Lexus LF-A   Aston V12 Vantage
9. Lexus LF-A

It's been a long time coming – but the wraps will finally be lifted on Lexus' hypercar this year. And to give us a taste of what to expect, Toyota's luxury arm will be bringing this race version to Goodwood, which is powered by a 550bhp 4.8-litre V10. Boasting a top speed in excess of  218mph, it's one fast car. Just 500 cars will be built, with flagship versions costing £190,000.

10. Aston V12 Vantage

The pinnacle of the Vantage range, the mighty V12 has the same 6.0-litre unit as the DBS. With   510bhp and 570Nm of torque it can do 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 190mph. Plus, it sounds spectacular. But that's not it – carbon ceramic brakes and stiffened sports suspension make this one of the best Aston Martins ever.
