Quality isn't up with the best of the class. Soft touch materials are a bit grainy on top, silver linings on the dash and door not well finished and lower trims are hard plastics, at least on beige trims it looks better. And the upper part of the dash isn't as well joined with the lower end as say in a passat.
Also this car is narrow and you noticed it. Why it surely is long, longer than anything in its class it is narrower than one would expect. It is a china oriented car, as the first superb was based on the china long wheelbase version of the older passat.
Its suspension isn't as well resolved as a passat or mondeo.
It is a good cheap car though, compared to others. Who would fall in love with it though instead of an insignia for example...Styling is its worst part...
I know of a few people with New 2008-Superbs and all love them.No let downs, top quality, one friend sold his 2006 3-Series for one and loves it. It's not seen as a cheap car either, it's pricing is on par with most makes now, and it isn't chinese orientated as the above poster says. Skoda are going from strength to strength - even VW themselves admit Skoda build better cars than they do. Where are Vauxhalls/Fords/VW in the driver power survey.....a lot further down than the winning Skoda brand.
