Dacia Sandero, Stepway and Logan facelift: prices and specs revealed

Three facelifted Dacia models aim to offer the usual Dacia value-for-money as prices are announced

Dacia introduced a trio of facelifted models at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, and now we’ve got the full details and prices for the new range. Updated versions of the Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Logan MCV estate are on the way, and come with a new 1.0-litre engine.

The Renault-sourced unit is tuned to deliver 74bhp and is claimed to improve fuel efficiency by 10 per cent. It replaces the outgoing 1.2 petrol. In the Sandero, it manages CO2 emissions of 117g/km and economy of 54.3mpg, while going from 0-62mph in 14.2 seconds. It’s not available in the Stepway, though.

Cheapest cars to run

Prices haven’t changed much despite the range of updates, as the entry-level Sandero still starts from £5,995, with the Logan MCV starting at £6,995 and the Stepway at £8,795.

In the Sandero, the Ambiance trim (adding essentials such as a radio and air-conditioning) starts from £6,995, with the range extending up to the top-spec Laureate at £10,395. Add £1,000 to each for the Logan MCV or Stepway versions.

All three models benefit from a similar raft of updates to the 2016 Duster, including a revised headlight design with LED running lights on top models. The front grille, bumper and lower air vents are also redesigned on all three cars to bring them in line with the SUV, while the rear lights have also been tweaked.

All three models receive interior updates, with new materials and features, plus improved ergonomics and storage areas. A satin-effect chrome finish for the air vent surrounds and centre console facia gives a more upmarket air while there’s a new four-spoke steering wheel.

Upgrades unique to the Sandero Stepway include chrome plated door handles and different upholstery.

The models also benefit from additional equipment, with a reversing camera and Hill Start Assist now available, plus a 12V socket at the rear to allow passengers to charge their smartphones. DAB radio is standard on all but Access models now, and top-spec cars get a new 7-inch touchscreen.

Other engines available are the existing 0.9-litre turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel, both with 89bhp. The diesel is the most economical, returning 80.7mpg and emitting 90g/km of CO2.
