Claytime for next Capri?

It's not only the Ka that's starting to take shape - Ford is also working on a mystery newcomer, which could revive the famous Capri badge last seen in the Eighties.

Clay Capri

03rd August 2006

Our picture appears to show designers in the early stages of shaping a rakish two-door model in clay. A large over-hang suggests a front-wheel drive layout - more than likely from the next Mondeo. The wheelarches are similar to those of the Iosis, and the overall shape resembles the smaller Reflex concept.

Add a low roofline, and the production car would certainly be a sporty machine. Whatever the truth is, however, the blue oval has revealed it will take the wraps off a fresh concept at next month's Paris Motor Show... although this won't be it. The French capital is also set to host the world debut of Ford's all-new Mondeo.
