PS3 is on track at last

The market leader for racing games is more impressive than ever, and it’s finally in the UK – along with the latest Formula One title

25th March 2007

Sony’s sleek PlayStation3 console certainly seems to have been worth the wait, as the company claims that the system’s graphics set new standards. However, it does admit most users will need a high-definition television to get the full benefit.

Saving game data isnow more user-friendly, too, because the 60Gb hard drive can be expanded to cope with the increasing number of titles. The new console is largely wireless, as the controllers are now infra-red and motion-sensing, while its Wi-Fi Internet access lets you go head-to-head with gamers across the world. As the PS3 is ‘backward compatible’, you’ll be able to play releases for the previous two machines on it.

The first driving game for the PS3 is the fully licensed £39.99 2006 F1 Championship Edition, with the latest tracks and drivers. It is claimed to be the most realistic, detailed game Sony has ever produced.
