Uno badge comeback

One of the best-known badges of the Nineties is set for a dramatic return. After 15 years away, the Uno is ready to hit the road again

The new Fiat supermini is due in 2009, and will slot between the existing Panda and Grande Punto in the line-up. It will be available in both three or five-door bodystyles, powered by a choice of familiar Multijet petrol and diesel units.

The model is designed as a successor to the Palio - Fiat's world car project - and will be sold in markets as diverse as Brazil, China, India and Russia. It will cost around £3,500, but there are no plans as yet for the UK.
