Speed limited cars?

Should we limit the top speed of Britain's cars? Join in the debate now!

It seems our long term update on the Lexus GS450h has stirred some of your passions, but what's interesting is that a lot of the feedback the car has generated is aimed at its top speed, rather than its fuel economy.

Taking that to an extreme, are there any of you out there that would like to see the top speed of Britain's cars limited?

After all, it's been done in Germany, where the majority of new high performance cars are governed to 155mph despite the freedom offered by the autobahn network.

It's worth pointing out that this limit is the result of manufacturers applying strict rules and regulations to themselves, and not government legislation, so should we in the UK take it one step further?

And if we were to limit the top speed of the UK fleet, what should we limit it to? 70mph? 100mph? I'd love to hear your views. Join the discussion here
