Lexus lookalike? New Korean car, codenamed Wz, gets sleek styling
23rd April 2007
Codenamed the Wz, it is expecÂted to replace the Korean brand's Chairman saloon. But its sleek profile and narrow headlamps are far removed from the awkward looks of the firm's Rodius MPV and Kyron SUV, which are SsangYong's most familiar products here in the UK. In fact, the Wz's heavily contoured flanks and smooth bodylines are more reminiscent of the Lexus LS.
The handsome concept model provides a preview of a future production car, which will boast a range of hi-tech gadgets, including radar-operated cruise control, a lane-departure warning system and parking sensors. The show vehicle features a futuristic cabin with minimalist controls and a flat floor, although these features are unlikely to make it into production when the roadgoing version hits Korean showrooms next year. It has not yet been confirmed whether the car will also go on sale here in the UK.
