Disco celebrates Landie landmark

Land Rover is gearing up for a major milestone

09th May 2007

The British brand will produce its four millionth vehicle this week when a Discovery 3 rolls off the production line in Solihull. The total includes 1.9 million Defenders - a vehicle which can trace its roots back to 1948.

Amazingly, bosses at the Midlands firm estimate 75 per cent of these rugged 4x4s are still on the road. Land Rover number 4,000,000 will be donated to the Born Free Foundation, which will use it as a rapid response vehicle for its wildlife conservation projects across Europe.
