02nd July 2007
Speaking at the launch of the new Twingo, Renault design boss Patrick le Quément said: "We are going to be in segments we're not in at the moment. We are going to go for more fun vehicles, more lively vehicles and more sporty vehicles."
He also confirmed the Twingo is the first in a series of a cars that will not follow a strict styling brief, as each one will be given its own unique look. "One car will not just be a scaled-up version of a smaller one. But I guarantee you will be able to recognise our new cars as Renaults." Prices for the Twingo start at £8,375 for the base 1.2-litre Dynamique, while the sporty GT, costs from £9,995. Buyers will also be able to choose from a range of stickers to help personalise the car, costing from £15.
