Ford has promised to continue offering the Ka as a great-value city car with as low a price as possible, Auto Express has learned
Auto Express Car Reviews

Unlike its Fiat 500 sister model, the next-generation Ka won’t try to move upmarket, and is likely to cost from around £7,500 when it goes on sale in 2008. That will make it about £3,000 cheaper than the 500, which the Italian company has positioned to tackle other reborn legends – such as the MINI – with a starting price of nearly £11,000.
Lewis Booth, boss of Ford Europe, has been widely reported as saying the firm has no intention of making the Ka a premium model. The policy will keep the newcomer separate from the 500 in the city car class – and so will its looks and driving experience. While it shares the 500’s platform and the two models have been engineered side-by-side, the Ford has a different personality.
As our image shows, it will take the cheekiness of the current model and update it with a more muscular look, while the driving experience will be even sharper.
