New wipers get smart

Fancy getting hold of the most technologically advanced windscreen wiper blades ever produced?

With spring-loaded rail, blade sits evenly on glass

Now you can, as German company Bosch has finally made its clever new Aerotwin available in the aftermarket.

The wiper features a spring-loaded rail incorporating a steel bar that has been specially constructed to press the blade to your screen. The curve of the rail is matched precisely to the design of the glass, which means it gives a much cleaner sweep. Bosch claims that spring-loading will distribute contact pressure evenly along the length of the blade, significantly cutting wear.

What’s more, thanks to the Quick-Clip Adaptor, fitting should be easy. The adaptor is protected by its own cover, which will also make for better aerodynamics and a less cluttered appearance. The Aerotwin is available now, and is compatible with most cars on sale in the UK.

Bosch Aerotwin retro-fit wiper blades, price: from £18.99, buy from: 01895 834466, www.boschautoparts.co.uk
