Trip the light fantastic with the latest product from Black and Decker. The Multi Spot Light is one of the biggest and bulkiest that we’ve ever tested, but is it the best?
We first put the heavy-duty model through the rigours of the Auto Express drop test, when we let the unit fall from one metre four times on to the boot floor of a car to see if there was any damage. But this had no adverse effect, with the performance just as impressive as ever.
The unit has three settings, and each worked perfectly. Two lights on either side of it provide small, torch-like beams, while the second position switches on a single halogen unit that produces much more light. Move to a third notch, and the twin bulbs will kick in, illuminating a whole garage. But be careful when on this mode, as the glare could do some serious damage if pointed directly at someone. This really is a blinding piece of kit!
When hand-held, the rubber-backed pistol grip design provided both balance and comfort. And another plus for the Multi Spot Light is that it can easily sit flat without you having to hold on to it, meaning it proves particularly useful when changing a wheel in the dark
Black and Decker Multi Spot Light Price: £54.99 Rating: **** Buy from: www.blackanddecker.eu Problems? It’s massive and was one of the bulkiest items we’ve tested. So why buy? Design provides both balance and comfort, while also allowing for stand-alone use. Proved highly robust in drop test.
