BTCC racer on the up!

Turkington to make his debut on the world stage

British Touring Car Championship race winner Colin Turkington is gearing up for the international stage.

The Team RAC BMW driver (right) is stepping up to the FIA World series for an appearance at Brands Hatch, Kent, on 23 September.

“I’m up against the top drivers in touring cars, so I’m not sure how I will get on,” said the 25-year-old. Reigning WTCC champion Andy Priaulx will be gunning for home glory, but the BMW star faces a strong challenge from a field that includes former BTCC champions Alain Menu (Chevrolet), Yvan Muller (SEAT) and James Thompson (Alfa Romeo).
