The Lancia Delta is back! Following on from the Delta HPE concept car revealed at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, these are the first images of the production model.

Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the Delta will be Lancia’s first all-new model of this century. Measuring 4.5 metres in length, 1.8 metres wide and 1.5 metres high, the newcomer has a wheelbase of 2.7 metres.

Inside, the cabin will be luxuriously trimmed. A hi-tech Bose Hi-Fi system is also fitted while a brand new Sat-Nav will also be offered. Buyers after peace and quiet can even enjoy a special sound absorbing headlining. Luggage space is enhanced by sliding rear seats, while the squab also reclines.

Based on the same platform as the latest Fiat Bravo, the Delta will be available with a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines providing between 120bhp and 200bhp.

The new Lancia will be launched to the world’s motoring press in the summer. Expect the newcomer to spearhead the marque’s return to the UK towards the end of the year.

Delta is not only one of Lancia’s best known names from the past, but it’s also a mathematical symbol that stands for change, difference and evolution.
