The black cat is on the prowl again. This is the flagship version of Jaguar’s XK range, and we’ve spied the facelifted XKR in Germany testing. The sporty coupe enjoys a few subtle changes to help distinguish it from the current car, but expect a similar beast.
Exterior enhancements include a newly styled front bumper, plus the air intakes located below the headlights have been modified. The rear bumper has also enjoyed a redesign, there are new LED taillights and for the first time indicator lights can now be found on the side mirrors.
Changes to the engine line-up will also be minimal. Expect a slight power increase with the upcoming supercharged 4.2-litre V8 unit. Inside the upcoming Jaguar should also get the new drive-select transmission interface currently available in the XF saloon.
The XKR should go on sale early next year, soon after it makes its world debut in January at the Detroit Motor Show. Expect an accompanying price tag starting at around £60,000.
