Air Hogs Zero Gravity micro remote control car - tested

Air Hogs model clings to walls – and even ceilings.

Air Hogs Zero Gravity

21st November 2008

Here's a toy that might drive you up the wall! The Air Hogs Zero Gravity remote control micro car can suck on to just about any angle of surface, defying gravity and travelling virtually anywhere.

As you might expect, it’s very light, which is essential for a piece of kit that’s capable of crossing walls and ceilings. As long as the surface is flat, there is no stopping the micro car.

Aim it towards an obstacle such as a light switch, though, and the toy will fall off. While the Air Hog doesn’t shift all that quickly in a straight line, it’s very agile, rotating within its own footprint so you can guide it around any objects in its way. And although the detailing could be better, it’s not meant to be a collector’s scale model. This remote control machine isn’t about intricate design, top speeds or drifting round corners. It can travel up vertical surfaces and along ceilings – and this alone is enough to make it genuinely different and thoroughly entertaining.
