Daihatsu have stated that they're withdrawing from Europe as early as 2013. Presumably this new Copen will go the way of the updated Charade which Autoexpress flagged up for ages in the new model column, then quietly dropped. A quick search of other sites revealed loads of models which, presumably like this Copen, will never come to Europe, let alone the UK. Their dealer network has virtually disappeared and all the stock held in the UK has, presumably, been sold. It's a shame, really, but hoping that this new model with its two cylinder engine will reach these shores is wishful thinking. Daihatsu, despite their tie-up with Toyota, will be consigned to a list of marques which didn't survive in the UK.
