Lotus has announced another special edition of the Evora S. Taking inspiration from the Lotus Formula One car, the Evora S GP Edition adopts the same black and gold livery, plus centre-locking gold alloys and a huge rear wing.

The car – which is based on the 2011 model year Evora, and not the updated 2012 version –  retains the same 345bhp supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine. This delivers 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds and a 177mph top speed.

The price has risen from £64,190 to £69,950, and only three will be built – all for the UK market.

So Lotus plan to charge an extre £5760 for what will soon be last years model, with a paint job. Lotus obviously know their market, by limiting production to only 3 cars they are bound to find that many customers with egos gulable enough to by them. What a pointless exercise.
