Z-alert as Nissan spruces up 350

Nissan bosses hope a raft of smart changes to the 350 coupé and roadster will put the cars Z and shoulders above the rest!

Cabin features extra storage areas and fresh aluminium trim

13th December 2005

We first told you about the company's plans to refresh the exciting 350Z in issue 881, and now we can bring you official details of all the changes. The highly acclaimed 3.5-litre V6 powerplant has been tweaked to develop 300bhp - a 20bhp increase. The top speed is still electronically limited to 155mph, but the sprint to 60mph is dispatched a tenth of a second quicker at 5.8 seconds.

Among the visual changes are new head and tail-lights, plus a restyled front bumper, giving an even more aggressive look. Inside, aluminium-trimmed air-con controls, new seat cloth for base models and extra storage areas feature in the cockpit. Pricing will be announced closer to the April on-sale date, but expect a slight rise over the current ΂£25,500 starting point.
