Glass cleaner

Our winners kept the windscreen smear-free

Comma Super Glass Clean
Comma Super Glass Clean
Price £3.99
Comma 01474 564311
www.commaoil.com

The budget entry from Comma really cut through the grease, leaving our test panel streak and smear free after only a couple of passes. Others matched its cleaning power in a competitive sector, but no other managed it at this price.

At less then £4 for a litre of solution which works this well, it’s a
combination that adds up to a winner for us. Our glass cleaning champion even has a pleasant citrus aroma.

CarPlan Screen Clean
Price £3.99

It matched our winner’s grime-shifting power, leaving no trace of grease, but was pipped on price – there’s 750ml here for the same
cost as Comma’s litre bottle. Yet it’s still great value, and even better when free wipes are included.

Wynn’s Glass Cleaner
Price £5.99

Another big pack at a good price, while the product’s performance was among the best. We’ve no reason to doubt Wynn’s ‘smear-free’ claims, as there was only the merest trace of grease left at the end
of our test.

What we looked for

There’s nothing like spending a few minutes cleaning your car’s glass to give a little lift to the driving experience. Grime that builds up unnoticed on the inside cuts light, and you appreciate this dulling effect once it has been removed.

The easiest way to do so is with a cloth and specialist cleaner. We put 20 through their paces on a junkyard side window smeared with grease, limiting both the number of wipes and amount of cleaner to establish which products worked best.
