It's easy to curse manufacturers' increasing use of different bolt and screw head designs as a ploy to prevent motorists working on their own cars. But how many times have you come across a hex bolt which has refused to turn? Chances are, never.

Verdict

Our Best Buy goes to the Sealey AK6166, which is well thought out. All keys are longer than rivals' and the clever case makes pick-ing the correct one easy.
The Draper 36000 takes second place because of the range of sizes - including the elusive 7mm - it offers for a smidgen over a tenner. Meanwhile, the Clarke ends up third, although it's only worth buying if you need a good range of Star keys.
