The revised Aston Martin Rapide has been spied testing, ahead of its launch in 2013

Our spy photographers have caught the facelifted Aston Martin Rapide testing.

The revised model will go on sale next year and features the new family face, which was first seen on the new Vanquish and is due to work its way across the entire Aston range in the not too distant future.

It gets a smoother front end and a lightly sculpted front bumper, while at the back, there's a slightly larger spoiler. The car’s profile, rear-end and twin exhausts will remain unchanged.

The 6.0-litre V12 is likely to remain, but it will be tweaked to improve the dynamic setup and efficiency of the Porsche Panamera rival.

The current car starts at £149,995 and is capable of going from 0-60mph in just 5.2 seconds, so expect similar performance and a small price increase when the updated Rapide goes on sale in 2013.

since this car 1st came out it just seemed like a huge disappointment. they could have made it longer so the rear space is better. they could have released this car under the lagonda name and made it a proper limo car with bigger wheels, wider and longer, giving it space to increase the roof line. the rear half looks a bit like a hunch back and its lost its smooth flowing profile just for the sake of filling a gap in the market. get a DB9 truly original car that made Aston Martin famous - you can't replicate that success on smaller or bigger models.
