Bentley names Luc Donckerwolke as its new Director of Design

Bentley has named Luc Donckerwolke as its new Director of Design. He replaces Dirk van Braeckel, who has moved to an unspecified position within Volkswagen Group design, which is overseen by Walter de Silva.

If you’re familiar with the Donckerwolke name, he’s the man who designed the Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo, before heading to SEAT where he introduced the arrow design language which shaped the look of the Ibiza, amongst others.

Commenting on the appointment, Walter de Silva said: “Luc Donckerwolke brings a wealth of design talent to Bentley. His extensive experience makes him the ideal person to take forward Bentley’s future design language, at a time when the company has significant plans for new models.”

Those new models will include the production version of the controversial EXP-9F SUV concept and the next generation of the Bentley Continental range, which are key to the firm’s ongoing success.
