Nope ,the Jury is out on this one for me. Ihope it looks better in the flesh than in these photos. It seems to have a bulbous, clumsy bonnet, a jacked up rear with that horrid rear grille feature and who on earth put thise silly door handles and faux side vents on it? As for the interior - it is BMW Individual - which means you can spec up the trim with whatever cow hide, faux suede, even more faux wood and chromed buttons - personal taste for somebody in Russia!!

So, you build a car which looks like a hatchback, but you only give it a boot - and then charge more for the added inconvenience. When are the Germans going to learn that getting things in and out of a window is somewhat less versatile than through a door?

The horrible scoops (back & front) look like an after market body kit a teenager would buy! If you cover up the back scoop with your finger, it looks ok, similar to the last 3 series coupe. The front (as per the new 3 series) seems to "droop", in that the lights & grill appear lower - looking much uglier from the front than the previous 3 series - especially when fitted with the horrid little yellow lights as apposed to these flashy white ones in the publicity pictures. There's always some who criticise, EG VW, for not being radical enough with their styling - so as this 4 series looks pretty much exactly the same as the last 3 series coupe (excepting the horrible scoops & droopy nose), I assume they'll pass the same judgement here? Personally I have no problems with cars just subtly evolving.... if done right.

Apart from the disgusting bodykit and the colour of the interior leather it's lovely!

Does an anvil drop on the front of every BMW that comes out the factory nowadays?

Well I think this looks nice, something a bit different and it has obvious design trates from the i8, but the same boring interior design and as for the interior colour choice in these press pictures!!!! Makes me feel sick! That headlining..... anyway I guess it's all about the driving and how nutty the M version will be?
They can't seriously think of keeping the rear exhaust setup design and also the front has some kind of strange chav citroen thing going on. The wheels are also something a 20 yr old might like. Otherwise it's really nice, but I like 70's inspired interiors.

Decent overall design ruined by the front and rear spoilers, tacky sidevents, and crappy interior. Another miss for BMW. Such a shame for a sporting brand. Why can't they get their sports cars right??

buy a van if you want to move stuff about a lot... they do it because a coupe looks much better than a hatchback...
compare the e46 3 series hatchback and coupe... no comparison!!

Superb and a stroke of genius from a brand / niche marketing perspective. So to hijack an old Audi tag line, you can now get an espresso hit of a 6-series in a 4-er Coupe/Gran Coupe. Perfect

Good looking motor. Not sure about that fat crease down the side though, rather OTT. Can't wait for the new Jag.

Did they give it any back seat room for adults?
A marketing move that I think will backfire. Good luck on that BMW.

Really nice looking car. Can't wait to see the gran coupe. Why do BMW put the most revolting colour combos on their concept cars - this crap coloured interior is vomit material. Thank god they have other interior colour choices.

I've never been a big fan of BMW's confused design theme but this is a good looking car and thank god no silly creases. finally the grill looks like a BMW grill should and not a pair of flossed rabbit teeth.

I think jtwoodfield's point is that they could (and in my opinion too, should) make the boot open like in hatchback. Even I drive 95% of my time WITHOUT friends, our dogs or a dish machine, I'd like to know they all will fit in when needed. A5 sportback is still gonna be the nr 1 after this (I know, it has 4 doors, but it still looks more "real" than this piece which looks like BMW has had to do something really really cool and ended up tuning the car like a 20 year old).

Oh, forgot to say about the design; it looks like Wallace & Gromit gone mad, both from rear and front. Difficult to imagine that those holes would not be full of mosqitos, bugs, flys, and ice & snow, depending of the season here in northern Europe. And the cleaning and scraping of them...uuhh...

Er... VitaminV is correct. This is NOT a sports car. Also, who are you to comment of someone else's financial status. In any case, you'll see zillions of these on the roads in the coming years - many of which will be purchased for a price of around the mid twenties - hardly expensive, therefore shouldn't warrant your condescending attitude. If anyone is being childish here, it is you.
