92Land Rover Discovery (old)79.04%
Sneaking one place above its little brother, the Freelander, the old-shape Land Rover Discovery gets a similarly underwhelming report. The new Disco is in a more favourable position in the top half of the chart, but 92nd place will make sobering reading for used buyers. You say the 4x4 is practical and comfortable, but your praise ends there. The lowest score is for the Land Rover's running costs, largely due to its petrol or diesel thirst. Build quality and reliability also leave a lot to be desired.
Your Quotes
“It looks like a tough 4x4, but high maintenance, fuel costs plus pricey parts and servicing are a problem. Something is always going wrong and it drives you mad.”
Mr John Sheldon - Nottinghamshire“Highly versatile and practical workhorse. Build quality not up to modern standards though.”
Mr Martyn Nicholls - Sheffield“Leaks water in, leaks oil out(been into dealers 18 times in two years for oil leaks). An excellent car without these problems. This is my second Discovery but the persistent oil leak which the dealer cannot cure has convinced me not to buy a Discovery 3.”
