Nissan Almera

The Almera has plummeted 25 places from 71st in Driver Power 2007. It has never challenged the class leaders dynamically, and owners ranked it 97th for performance, 96th for comfort and ride, 90th for handling and 89th for ease of driving. The car was a reasonable 50th in the reliability category, but Nissan will be hoping its Qashqai does better next year.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

Bad news! Nissan posts mid-table results for running costs and practicality, but falls well behind elsewhere. The Qashqai is a sales hit – let’s hope it can influence the firm’s position next year.
