Vauxhall Zafira (old)

We’re rounding out the bottom 10 of the Driver Power Top 100 and are already on to our fourth Vauxhall. Even nine years after the original Zafira’s launch, its superb Flex7 seats give a strong practicality score of eighth, but once you’ve loaded up with people or kit, you say it’s a different story out on the road. The car’s MkIV Astra mechanicals clearly don’t impress.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

A shocking performance. Vauxhalls are reasonably practical and frugal, but little else recommends them. Can the firm expect continuing strong sales if this is how drivers rate it?
