Clever interior layouts don’t seem to win over our readers, as the Multispace has seen off some perfectly packaged people carriers to take fifth for practicality. That 67 per cent of you said you would buy another shows that the areas where it scored poorly – handling and brakes – are not vital factors in this class.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

It may be the best-placed French firm, but you say Citroens are unreliable, badly built, slow and have awful handling. The new C5 can’t come quick enough – let’s hope it can improve things.
