Saab 9-3

With an all-new model still two years away, the 9-3 struggles on against fresher rivals. And although it’s leapt five places this year, there’s still a long list of complaints from owners. High running costs are its biggest issue, but you don’t rate the handling, practicality or reliability much either. You’re impressed by the performance and love the comfort, though.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

With an ageing line-up, we thought Saab might struggle – but owners are still happy. However, work is needed on reliability, running costs and handling to avoid a downturn next year.
