it’s clear that 1-Series owners love and loathe their cars in equal measure. On the plus side, eighth for handling is a great result, while 10th for braking proves that BMW didn’t cut corners on the engineering front. However, 94th for practicality is poor and 89th for ride quality suggests there’s still some work to be done.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

With solid build quality and an engaging driving experience, there’s plenty of satisfaction to be had in a BMW. You would like to see more in the way of practicality, though.
