Jaguar S-Type

Overall Average Rating - 87.31%
Position in the Top 100 cars - 9th
Now replaced by the striking new XF, you might expect the ageing S-Type to slip quietly out of the Top 100. Surprisingly, though, it’s scored its best-ever Driver Power finish! You love the executive motor’s cosseting ride – Mercedes’ E-Class is the only car in this class to better it – plus the rapid
performance, strong brakes and fluid handling.
A fine cabin design and figure-hugging seats also win your praise. However, despite the impressive top 10 finish, there is still plenty wrong with the S-Type – thirsty petrol engines, woeful reliability and poor rear passenger space in particular. Thankfully, the XF has addressed all of these issues, so can we expect a top five finish for the Jaguar this time next year? We can’t wait to find out.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 5th)
Thw big cat is back on form, overtaking all its German rivals. Taking a class victory for ride quality and offering lusty engines, Jaguars make their owners extremely happy indeed.
