How much?

£39K as tested for a Freelander replacement? No Freelander costs that much, even top of the range.

I'm curious about that sloping roofline, what is reat seat headroom like?

@anders this isnt a Freelander replacement. There will be a Freelander later under the less "prestigious" Landrover brand. Hopefully it should be more affordable (but don't count on it!! :P)

Shame really - its a fab looking vehicle......Pity the Kia Sportage came along first with its better looks and better price......

It will still sell to the badge snobs and know-nothings.

Visibilty

Well, it's starting to grow on me, and it will; definitely sell, even at that price.
But what is visibility like out of that back window? And I can't help feel that the interior is going to be a bit dark with such a high waist line and a strongly sloping roof. But there gain, 80% of vehicles these days are sold on looks/desirability, not practicality.

According to wmtmarine I must be a badge snob and a know nothing because I want one and I am going to have one.
Its a bit like buying baked beans..some people will buy saver brands and people like myself will buy Heinz...why because strangely enough they are my preference.
If wmtmarine wants to buy a kia thats fine by me(after all he or she knows everything) but please why dont you just get on with your life and let simpletons like me buy what WE want

outright winner

I work by the factory on merseyside, and over the last few weeks,i have this new range rover on the road, it is a winner, it look much better in the metal, it is a range rover, the best 4x4x far.

I put down a deposit last year and you have had just 1 UK showing.

I am fed up of you teasing us and giving it to the press and yet not showing it to us. the boat show and that is it? Rubbish

I don't even know if I can fit into it. What is the max headroom please for the driver. Also when is delivery? From September isn't good enough? 500 owners of GTRs had to wait across 6 months but at least they knew 6 months+ in advance.

Reliability and post sales?

Let's hope they have upper their game in terms of reliability (which is at best questionable across the range) and post sales (which is at best appalling at the dealers). Having foolishly owned several I can safely say that the above is true across the range. Looks nice though....but they all do! I think I'll stick with the real premium rivals for now.

Seconded, the reliability of these cars is awful, and build quality "questionable", it remains to be seen just how good this will be, but if Jaguars are anything to go by...................... forget it.

Black 5 door on a 60 plate. Didn't think they were out yet?
Looked ok, but only knew it wasn't a freelander because it said range rover on the bonnet edge and the meaner looking headlights.

Another load of rubbish

Check the RV of any Land/Range rover today and you can NOT get a Bid on one, they are "Worthless". If you want to loose a packet go buy one, but remember what I just said.

Saw a black one in Banbury a couple of weeks ago with dark tints all round. Definitly caught my eye. But it fashion dictating price not ability (AKA the Mini syndrome). Id save myself a fortune and a headache and get a Hyundai IX35

Nothing wrong with the build quality of Jaguar even my old 03... 3 litre Xtype still looks and drives like new with no bit's falling off...no reliabilty problems for me, quiet as a mouse... lovely and sharp permanent 4x4 handling.. with the grunt of a powerfull engine.... Ok it's a 10th or so of a second slower to 60 than the equivalent BMW but the permanent 4 wheel drive means it's much faster off the mark...

Range Rover/ Land Rover is a changed brand and quality! Jaguar sales are 59% up.... and rising

I can understand German's hating the Range Rover though because it's simply a better 4x4 machine than what they build.....

The build quality started to improve at land Rover a long time ago, thanks to Ford and double sided sticky tape not used any more..but still ...What percentage of all the Land rovers ever built are still on the road - it's very high because they are tough machines

101 global awards.! Ive kept scouring this mag for a better car on the horizon but there isn't one in the pipeline, so there's never a better time to buy the all can do car. Pictures here simply don't do it justice. Expensive car but you pay for what you get. A cut above Beamer and merc.
