cracking looking little car, ticks all the boxes for me especially 1.6 diesel, byebye vw group cars i'm jumping ship next year ;)
But I'm not 100% sold on the styling - there's a few too many influences from theawful Chris Bangle BMW period in there for my liking, and it doesn't gel as well as the i40 does.
That said it's not outright ugly, and the positives far outweigh the negatives.
As long as Hyundai don't get silly with the prices, this could be a strong candidate for my next car.
But £14,000? Why?
Like most cars sold in Europe, which are at least 25-30% overpriced, the price is getting a bit silly for a small/medium sized car..
The styling is good and is far better looking than most of the Ford/Vauxahall brigade (VW has NO styling whatsover).
Durability will no doubt be 1st class and I would rather buy this than an oval badge anyday!
Not a bad looking car at all, still not VW Golf quality interior, but not bad at all !
If I was doing high mileage than it would defiantly be the 1.6 crdi, excellent chain cam, no expensive belt changes, unlike VAG cars!
Impressive power from a 1.6, and their engines are smooth !
Reliable cars too. Pity We pay around 3500-4000 Euro's more for the Hyundai here in Ireland compared to the U.K , then again our tax rates are far higher, and we get less equipment !
Watch out VW!
After the launch of the i40, the new Ford Focus-sized i30 should leave no one in doubt about Hyundai’s intentions as far as UK sales are concerned. This is an excellent all-round compact family car. Plus, with a level of equipment to match the class’s best non-premium models, as well as outstanding fuel economy and improved ride and handling, the i30 should make a lot of new friends for the brand.
