does the BMW 1 series 123d 3-door M-sport hatchback not count? 204bhp in that one.
Fully concur with you AJD_84. I have the very car you quote and though not one to normally criticise these reports I wish they'd get their facts right and not claim something is what is obviously isn't!
8 secs to 60, 52.3mpg and under £20,000 (negotiated)? There is no rival for the nippy driver who wants economy in a medium size hatch. At this price not only is it hot, but its sedate styling won't alert every speed cop in the county. Excellent buy, with its low purchase price, for drivers who REALLY have to eat miles.
There’s no shortage of pace on offer from this hot Mazda 3 diesel – and that’s backed up by impressive economy and low emissions. Sharp steering and an agile chassis mean the car is fun to drive, too, making it a very worthy alternative to the 168bhp VW Golf GTD – and not least because of the £21,195 price. If only it looked less like a regular 3 and more like a hot hatch, we are sure Mazda would be on to a winner.
