FIRST OPINION

With so many manufacturers producing so many massively powerful machines, it's easy to be an also-ran in the race for honours in the supercar class. However, the Ruf RT 12 is anything but. Few models feel as well glued to the tarmac, and hardly any can provide a blend of such incredible speeds at such a competitive price.

AT A GLANCE

To help cool the incredible twin-turbo powerplant, Ruf had to cut holes in the body above the rear wheelarches (below) - and this enhances the supercar's bespoke look.
    Engine: 3.8 bi-turbo, 650bhp
    0-60/top spd:3.2secs/225mph
    Price:£171,000
