Caterham are on the verge of revealing an all-new sports car, a silhouette of which will be plastered to the side of the Caterham F1 race cars at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
Caterham calls the new concept an “ultra-high performance model.” It will be fully unveiled by the Chairman of Caterham Cars, Tony Fernandes, during the Singapore Grand Prix race weekend starting 20 September.
The silhouette (pictured), shows a low-slung, open-top sports car with a profile similar to that of the Ariel Atom. A protruding air intake is visible above the driver’s head. The new concept is the first model to benefit from the input of all of Caterham Group’s specialist business arms, including Carterham Technology & Innovation, Caterham Composites and the Caterham F1 team.
However, this new concept is separate from the joint venture between Renault and Caterham and the revival of the Alpine name, which is expected in 2016.
