An image of the new Lexus RC F has appeared online ahead of the car's official unveiling at the Detroit Motor Show this month. The leaked image of Lexus' new rival for the forthcoming BMW M4 first appeared in a Chinese car magazine.
Lexus has already released several teaser images of its new high-performance coupe and the latest leaked image closely matches the official shots. The RC F retains the sleek lines and slopping roofline of the standard car but is fitted with far more aggressive and aerodynamically optimised bumpers and larger alloy wheels.
No stats or performance figures have been released by the Japanese manufacturer regarding the RC F, but we can expect the coupe to be fitted with a development of the previous IS F's 5.0-litre V8 engine, which should produce around 455bhp. Cylinder-deactivation could also be used under light-throttle loads to help conserve fuel.
There is still no official word on pricing but you can expect to pay around £65,000 for the RC F when it arrives at the back end of 2014. The cost is a substantial amount more than the £56,653 price tag of its biggest rival, the BMW M4.
