New details and images of the Mercedes AMG GT are slowly beginning to trickle out. An official Mercedes photoshoot shows the low-slung coupe in a poison green and black flame vinyl wrap, while also revealing the Porsche 911 rival will ride on an aluminium space frame to help shed weight.
Mercedes has already teased us with hazy images of the AMG GT production car, with the cascading rear end and elongated bonnet giving the classic coupe look.
Under the bonnet we also know Mercedes will fit an all-new V8 engine developing around 500bhp, but the Stuttgart-based brand is keeping detailed specs close to its chest. Auto Express also revealed the AMG GT will not be available with the option of a manual gearbox, but it is not yet know if a seven-speed or nine-speed transmission will be offered to buyers.
The new look also extends to the interior, where Mercedes has drawn on the lavish cabin of the flagship S-Class for inspiration. A tablet-style display, a bank of air vents and lashings of leather will all feature. We can expect the AMG GT to be revealed by the end of the year, before arrving in showrooms in March.
