Steering wheel germ shock

Did you know your steering wheel probably has more bacteria than your loo seat?

11th September 2006

Next time you touch your car's steering wheel, be sure to wash your hands afterwards. The rim can carry more than twice as many germs as a toilet seat, says a new survey.

The report, by Tesco, shows steering wheels average 41,600 bacteria - compared with only 17,400 for the loo. "This proves how easily germs are passed on," said Tesco's Daniel Kyle.
