Just weeks after driving the latest MINI for the first time, Auto Express can reveal a range of striking new hot parts for the supermini from John Cooper Works.

The additions give the Cooper and Cooper S variants even more appeal thanks to a smart new bodykit. It includes an aerodynamic front bumper, black grille and lower side sills.

At the back, buyers can specify a diffuser-style rear bumper complete with slated sections above the foglamps. Other visual tweaks include optional 19-inch double-spoke alloys in a range of finishes, plus carbon fibre upgrades for the tailgate handle, bonnet inlet scoop and door mirrors.

Completing the modifications is a purposeful high-level rear spoiler, which is being offered to replace the more subtle standard design.

Fans of the brand won't feel let down inside, either, with race-style gearshift indicator lights on the menu for the first time. Unusual chequered flag-look floor mats, steel sill protectors and supportive sports seats with side airbags are the other stylish JCW developments for the British-built baby.

Uprated brakes and a smart polished metal strut brace under the bonnet, which boosts front end stiffness, are also set to join the list of extra kit available.

The new MINI hits dealers in late November, although a John Cooper Works version with all the kit as standard isn't expected until 2008.
