BMWs produced 'while you wait'!

BMW eyes up the future with a new sales system

26th February 2007

Order a new totally customised car on Monday and have it delivered to your home on Friday. That's the deal that BMW wants to offer.

It's working on a design for a super-efficient factory that can make bespoke cars in five days, instead of the current wait of up to six weeks. But there's one hitch - it could be eight years before the "fully flexible" production line is built.
