Another UK car expo, another world debut from Vauxhall! Auto Express can exclusively reveal that the star of the 2008 British Motor Show will be the brand’s Vectra replacement.
At last year’s event, the Corsa took centre stage, and the Luton firm wants to hog the limelight again by pulling the covers off its new family car for the first time in London.
Originally, the swooping GTC Coupé – unveiled at the Geneva show earlier this year – was due to be followed up by a four-door concept at next month’s Frankfurt expo. However, the two-door got such a great reception that bosses have decided to skip the second study and launch the production-ready model in the UK.
The unveiling will be even bigger than the Corsa’s, which involved
everything from a concert to an enormous Docklands billboard. The
2008 British Motor Show will once again be held at the ExCeL arena, and will run from 23 July to 3 August.
While the name for Vauxhall’s new family car has yet to be announced, the range of four-door, five-door and estate models will go on sale late next summer.
