India is set to produce the world’s cheapest car. TATA is developing a supermini it says will cost only £1,300. The firm claims it will be cheap to run and easy to repair by even an amateur mechanic. The manufacturer expects to sell around 100,000 examples a year when the model arrives in 2010. It could then be imported to the UK and US.
